Multi-building commercial camera upgrade
Their existing system was old, outdated, and no longer giving management the visibility they needed. The biggest concern was monitoring trucks entering and leaving the property — the old cameras weren't positioned to see vehicle traffic. They'd also had trouble finding a company willing to come out, properly evaluate the property, and design a solution.
Part of the system had to run from a separate garage building, so this wasn't a matter of swapping cameras. We installed a wireless network link between the buildings and put a PoE switch inside the garage, then placed cameras for real coverage of the yard and vehicle traffic. A large TV inside lets staff monitor all day, and management views it from their phones.
Restaurant & bar — complete low-voltage build-out
We were brought in while the restaurant was still being built, so the infrastructure was planned and wired during construction instead of bringing in multiple contractors afterward.
We pre-wired an 8-camera 4K system on a 16-channel NVR with room to expand, then installed and configured it once the building was finished. We also wired and installed the 70-volt commercial audio system with speakers through the dining areas and restrooms, commercial XM music, two telephone systems, multiple mounted televisions, and helped set up their online ordering. They opened with the technology already in and running.
Phased security camera system upgrade
The owner's system was so old the video had become practically useless — he could barely make out what he was looking at, and the exterior cameras were the worst of it. No usable coverage of the pumps, entrances, or customers.
After walking the property we phased it instead of doing everything at once. Phase one was 9 cameras on a 16-channel 4K NVR — four 8MP 180° panoramic units outside, plus the register, office, and store floor — placed for usable views of faces and vehicle activity rather than wherever was easiest. The difference was dramatic, including the nighttime video, and he can search recorded footage for people and vehicles instead of scrubbing hours of it. He left us a five-star review, and the recorder has room for the car wash later.
New construction — security, audio & communications
Another one we got into before the building was finished. We walked the facility with the owner, worked out where everything would live, and ran the low-voltage infrastructure before the walls and ceilings closed up — so it's built into the restaurant instead of added as an afterthought.
We planned a 16-camera system covering the front exterior and parking lot, the rear of the building, the bar areas, seating, server lane, and kitchen, and ran solid-copper Cat6 to every camera location during construction. After the build we came back to install and configure the cameras, tie the system into the restaurant's television, and finish the 70-volt audio and telephone infrastructure.
